In October a barn owl box was installed on the trunk of an ash tree at Sid’s Piece; the tree surgeon who installed it had been a pupil at Blackbourne Middle School and is very interested in wildlife and loves his job.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Barn Owl Project has installed 100 boxes on community sites during this year. Now we have a box we need to monitor it and let the Trust know whether it is being used by owls or possibly other birds or creatures; for this Linda and Mary Jane went to a training day at Lackford Lakes. If there is anyone else who would like to become a monitor please let us know, or any sightings of owls near the box again let us know.
